ATU MakerSpace

is a pioneering initiative that brings technology and creativity to secondary schools, inspiring students to consider science and technology as exciting career choices. Through engaging workshops and hands-on experiences, ATU Maker Space opens doors to a world of innovation and opportunity, bridging the gap between learning and real-world application. ATU Maker Space is part of the ATU Higher Education 4.0 project which is funded by the HCI under Pillar 3.

Team

“The MakerSpace team is embarking on a journey around the ATU region, visiting secondary schools to introduce students to a captivating world where technology meets creativity. Through interactive workshops with state-of-the-art equipment, such as laser cutters, 3D printers, vacuum formers, 3D scanners, and Internet of Things (IOT) Kits, students will explore robotics, coding, and much more, empowering them to unleash their creativity while gaining invaluable technical skills. The project aims to show that science and technology are not just subjects in a textbook but gateways to a world of innovation and career possibilities.”

“Being able to deliver engaging, hands-on STE(A)M workshops to secondary schools in the ATU region with the Mobile ATU Makerspace will be one of the most exciting projects myself and the Fab Lab Maker Hub team have ever taken on. The scope of the project and the range of digital fabrication technology on offer to schools is incredible. We have already seen how both students and teachers are realising the potential that this type of self directed and innovative learning environment can cultivate 21st century skills. I personally cannot wait to get out on the road in the ATU Makerspace Van!”
